- Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council - main scientific funding body in the UK for agriculture and life sciences.
- CGIAR. International research body with governments and foundations amongst the membership. Focus is on spreading agricultural research and development to developing nations.
- Commonwealth Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry Australia. Southern hemisphere perspective. Large site with a great deal of information.
- Countryside Agency. Formerly the Countryside Commission but now with an expanded role.
- DEFRA - Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs - the new version of the old MAFF.
- European Union's Agriculture site - technical details of EU policy, statistics etc.
- Food and Agriculture Organisation - the UN body dealing with all food issues. Great yearbook and on-line material.
- International Fund for Agricultural Development. UN body set up in 1977 to help farmers in the world's poorest areas.
- National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service - US body set up to disseminate information.
- OpenGov Topic Index - Agriculture. The UK Government's list of all central government internet sites for agriculture.
- Sustainable agriculture resources - Europe and the UK. Site of links in Europe (from an Australian University!).
- United States Department of Agriculture. Huge site with numerous links to all matters agricultural.
- Virtual Library - Agriculture. News and more on this site which is part of the growing set of WWW Virtual Library projects.
- Virtual Library - Sustainable Agriculture. (see above!) only for low-impact farming.
- World Agricultural Information Centre - part of the FAO - large collection of resources.
